December 2022 Charity Winners

As you may remember, in lieu of mailing Christmas cards this year, I decided to make a donation to a local charity. I have done this for the last couple of years and really enjoyed learning about so many new nonprofits from our clients who have recommended their personal favorites when it comes to giving back in Raleigh and the surrounding area. Past winners have included Note in the PocketDucks UnlimitedWounded Warrior ProjectThe Green Chair Project, and more!

Now it is time to announce the 2022 winners but before I do, I would like to thank all of you for sending me your favorite local charities. There were so many awesome causes that I was excited to learn more about. In fact, I received so many nominations this year that I have decided to donate to two charities.

Without Further Ado, Our 2022 Winners Are…

The V Foundation for Cancer Research

The V Foundation for Cancer Research was founded by ESPN and legendary basketball coach Jim Valvano with one goal in mind: to achieve Victory Over Cancer®. With a goal like that, how can you not want to get involved? Since its formation in 1993, the V Foundation has awarded over $310 million in cancer research grants nationwide and has grown to become one of the premier supporters of cutting-edge cancer research.

The V Foundation for Cancer Research

One of my favorite things about this charity is that 100% of the direct donations go directly to cancer research. The V Foundation’s endowment covers administrative expenses. Learn more at donate at V.org.
