Playoff Fever: Inside the Custom “Caves” of Our Carolina Hurricanes

The energy in Raleigh right now is absolutely electric. There is nothing quite like playoff hockey in the Triangle—the tailgates are louder, the shirts are redder, and “Caniacs” are everywhere you look.

As a real estate guy, I can’t help but watch the games and wonder: Where do these guys go to decompress after a three-OT thriller? I did some digging into the recent moves our Canes have made in the market, and while the approximately $32 million they’ve collectively spent since 2021 is impressive, it’s the personalization that really tells the story.

Here is a look at how some of our favorite players are living off the ice.

Meet the Newest Member of Our Team: Welcoming Jonathan Babson!

In the Raleigh real estate market, things move fast. To stay ahead, you need a team that is not only knowledgeable but deeply committed to the people they serve. That’s why I am incredibly excited to officially introduce the newest member of our crew: Jonathan Babson!

Jonathan joined us in early March, and he has already become an indispensable part of how we serve the Triangle.

Get to Know Jonathan Babson (JB)

Jonathan (JB to his friends and family) was born and raised in Wilmington, NC, and is a proud Seahawk, having graduated from the University of North Carolina Wilmington with a BS in Business Administration. He has been a Raleigh resident since 1993 and has seen the Triangle grow into a world-class region and an exciting place to live.

JB worked for major telecommunications companies, national banks, and most recently owned his own interior design firm. Since he was a child, he has had a passion for architecture, design, and real estate, and joining the team has created the perfect marriage of his sales knowledge and love of property.

With a diverse and award-winning career, he gained the vital skills of nurturing relationships, listening to needs, and following through to ensure satisfaction. Having bought, renovated, and sold several properties in the Raleigh and Wilmington markets, he knows that buying and selling a home can be the biggest transaction in one’s life. JB enjoys home improvement projects, traveling, volunteering for charities, and spending time with his family and two-spirited schnauzers, Charlie and Willy.

Strength in Numbers: Meet the Full Team

Hudson Residential Team

One of the biggest advantages of working with me is the collective brainpower of our entire team. When you hire one of us, you get the expertise of all of us:

  • Annie Meadows: Annie brings a unique “people-first” energy to everything she does. With 17 years in the beauty business before transitioning to real estate, she is an expert at the “consultative” approach—listening intently and ensuring every client feels heard and pampered throughout the process.
  • Rick Meadows: An NC State grad with a background in high-level sales and communication, Rick is also a professional actor! His ability to stay calm under pressure and his deep connections throughout the Carolinas make him a powerhouse when it comes to networking and negotiating for our clients.
  • Jennifer Watkins: Jennifer is a seasoned technology and telecommunications executive who brings a high-level strategic mind to our team. Licensed since 2016, she has nearly a decade of experience including rehabbing properties, overseeing total renovations, and managing investment properties.
  • Jonathan Babson: Our newest expert, bringing his interior design eye and $10 million+ in recent transaction experience to help our clients see the hidden potential in every property.

Why the “Team Approach” is Your Secret Weapon

You might wonder: “Why does it matter if my agent has a team?” In a market like the Triangle, the benefits are massive:

  • 360-Degree Expertise: Between us, we have backgrounds in finance, interior design, communications, and high-stakes sales. We look at your home from every possible angle to ensure it’s marketed and sold perfectly.
  • Unmatched Availability: Real estate doesn’t happen on a 9-to-5 schedule. Having a full team means there is always someone available to answer a question, host an impromptu showing, or handle a last-minute inspection.
  • Collaborative Strategy: When we sit down to price your home or craft an offer, we aren’t just guessing. We are pooling decades of combined experience to ensure your strategy is bulletproof.

We are growing because we love what we do, and we love this community. Whether you want to welcome Jonathan to the neighborhood or you’re ready to start your next real estate chapter, our team is ready to get to work.

A True Team Effort in Midtown Raleigh Real Estate

One of my favorite parts of this closing in Midtown Raleigh was getting to work alongside my teammate, Annie Meadows, who represented the seller. I had the privilege of representing the buyer—and together, we made real estate magic happen.
