2023 Holiday Charity Donation Winners
As you may remember, in lieu of mailing Christmas cards this year, I decided to make a donation to a local charity. I have done this for the last couple of years and really enjoyed learning about so many new nonprofits from our clients who have recommended their personal favorites when it comes to giving back in Raleigh and the surrounding area. Past winners have included Note in the Pocket, Ducks Unlimited, Wounded Warrior Project, and more!
This year I am proud to support two more incredible causes: All-In to Fight Cancer and the Green Chair Project. Thank you to my friends for recommending these charities!
All-In to Fight Cancer
The All-In to Fight Cancer Foundation started with Rob Eubank. He was an incredible human being who loved a friendly card game. After Rob was diagnosed with colon cancer, he committed to helping others battle the disease. Not surprisingly, he challenged his family and friends to assist because he had an undeniably huge heart and a fierce calling to help others. After some creative brainstorming All-In to Fight Cancer was founded to raise money and gather the community for a huge poker match.
Proceeds go to support beneficiary organizations that treat and care for child and adult cancer patients, conduct critical cancer research, and support patients, families, and survivors. To date, they have raised over $2,300,000.
The Green Chair Project
The Green Chair Project provides essential resources to individuals overcoming homelessness, crisis, or disaster, whose fresh start in stable housing is stalled by a lack of resources to make their house a home. What started as a passion project between two friends has grown into a transformative force for good fueled by community donations, dedicated volunteers, and a network of 100+ referring national agencies & local nonprofits, all collaborating to cultivate opportunity and empower potential.
The incredible team at the Green Chair Project was able to supply cribs and beds for over 1,600 children in 2022. How amazing is that?!
Once again, I am grateful to be able to donate to these amazing foundations within our community, and look forward to another year of giving back!
